Mortgage Assistance and Stop Foreclosure: Study of Cases |

It’s very possible that homeowners can work with their mortgage company to resolve their situation to avoid FORECLOSURE. However, if the homeowner knows little about stopping foreclosure, he/she can set their own selves up to fail. The homeowner usually is the first to feel that they had no choice but to agree with a repayment plan, that “they knew or should have known” that entering in such agreement is ridiculous. But when your family is staring you in the face and FORECLOSURE is near, the homeowner takes the first agreement that’s offer just to avoid FORECLOSURE. Ironically homeowners will submit thousands of dollars to the mortgage company and agree to pay double or even triple their regular mortgage payment. The homeowners that have been close to FORECLOSURE but the mortgage company allowed the homeowner a modification and stopped their FORECLOSURE but the homeowners became delinquent down the road are more than likely to except a re-payment plan the second time around that will set them up to fail or simply file bankruptcy. Some mortgage company representative will explain to the homeowner that “you cannot receive another modification for a period of three years.” However this is not quite true, especially if your loan is FHA or VA. If you ever had a modification agreement and for whatever reason you could not keep the agreement, do not let the mortgage company attack you with FORECLOSURE. A homeowner can receive additional modification agreement as long as there is a different reason for the homeowner’s adversities.
